Analy Nursery School celebrates its 50th school year in 2008. In 1957 Bev Horwinski started the school in cooperation with the Adult Education Program at the West Sonoma High School District. We first rented space from the Methodist Church, and then later moved to the Community Church. In 1966 Analy High School opened the current location at 466 Johnson Street.
Analy was the original west county cooperative nursery school. The program expanded and contracted over the years. At one time, the nursery school had as many as 5 locations: Analy, ElMolino, Russian River, Occidental, and Monte Rio. Analy Nursery School is the only remaining location.
Edna Cheek continues to direct and teach, emphasizing the importance of allowing two, three and four year olds to grow at their own developmental rate through play and socialization. |
