Our cooperative school provides a play-based developmental curriculum that emphasizes socialization and communication with a child-centered teaching approach; allowing preschoolers to explore the environment at their own pace and participation in activities that interest them. Analy Nursery School takes pride in predominately emphasizing the importance of play and building language skills through developmentally appropriate educational opportunities, rather than promoting academic standards.

Children have the opportunity to play indoors or outdoors, to paint, do an art or science activity, build with blocks or hammer with wood, play with water or the texture table, play with clay or puzzles, pretend dress up or pretend in the community corner which changes every couple of months. Our preschool environment supports the development of fine and gross motor skills which provide the foundation for academic skills children require before entering a structured learning environment. They gain rich, sensory motor experiences through all many different activities that are provided daily. Circle time activities are designed for the purpose of building language skills through sharing, learning to take turns and participate in a group for music, finger plays and a story time.

It is our intent to focus on the importance of childhood play and its relevance to human growth. Children have a healthier outlook on life when their play is valued and understood. Play is a powerful stimulus that initiates discovery.

Each human being is born with a drive to explore, discover and to make personal order of its surroundings. All areas of childhood; social, emotional, intellectual and physical - are impacted by play, so their play space should be set up in such a way as to help them to move through developmental growth stages. Each time we divert children from their own self-directed play, or when we overly schedule their world, we shut down their opportunities to self-initiate and negotiate their drive to explore, experiment and problem-solve. Divergent thinkers need pathways to play, imagine and experiment. It sustains their inborn curiosities while they figure out their world. Through trial and error they learn cause and effect.

When you choose to be a working part of Analy Participation Nursery School, you join with us to create an environment that entices the child to wonder, imagine and construct through their own self discovery. Through socialization and play they gain rich sensory experiences, build language skills and develop healthy ways to interact with other children and adults in a fun, loving environment.
